Socks For Show – A Trip to Charlottesville, Virginia

Happy Monday, readers! Say Possible Socks had the pleasure of setting up for a fun market this past weekend in Charlottesville, VA. What a treasure of a spot; met the nicest people there, and got to sample some of the ‘local’ favorites! We arrived Friday evening to our excellent Airbnb, woke up Saturday morning to explore the downtown pedestrian mall, which certainly looked popular for breakfast – so much so that we had a little bit of a wait before we got to sit down in The Nook. Such great food, I had a broccoli and cheddar omelette with home fries, toast and of course, coffee. So good, but we had to get set up at the Belmont Bash, so off we headed (although we almost got blocked in as another even was taking place downtown!).

We arrived to the park where the family event was being held, got set up, nice and relaxing too – had plenty of time to set up, chat with the other vendors, and get settled for a great day in the sun. While the live music got its ‘act’ together ;P we took some time to sketch out some more sock concepts. As the show started, we had lots of fun reactions to our socks! It’s always exciting to talk to people about our product and our story; how we got started, and where we’d like to go. A lot of people seemed surprised that we traveled two hours to come to the market, but to that we say, we love finding new places, meeting new friendly faces, and really just spreading the word, one sock at a time :).

To end the day, we enjoyed Italian fare at Sal’s and a great night’s rest, to wake up early Sunday morning and check out the best breakfast spot in town, The Bluegrass Grill & Bakery. *It was so good – I think I’d recommend anything on their menu! Time to hit the road, we set out to see a few of the landmarks nearby, namely Monticello, and then we even stopped by an apple orchard to select some tasty snacks and catch a hay ride. Such a great weekend; it’s always a good time when we can combine work with some fun. We would highly recommend a visit to Charlottesville <3 C’ville.
